The Grand Cayman Trading System
Named One of The Top Ten Systems of All Time As Featured in Futures Magazine as
Futures Truth's picks in 1997 & again in 2001. See
Articles below:
The Grand Cayman System, a long-term trading approach, was discovered in 1992 to trade a representative portfolio of commodity futures from different complexes.. An examination of the Grand Cayman System Portfolio Performance verifies the power of this system. The Grand Cayman System uses only two parameters and uses the same system rules and parameter values for all commodities – there is no optimization by commodity or commodity complex. The result is a more reliable system that has withstood the test of time, repeatedly being named one of the "Top Ten Trading Systems" and in a special issue of Futures Magazine, it was named "One of the Top Ten Trading Systems of All Time" in a review of all systems being tracked by *Futures Truth in July of 1997 and again in June of this year, 2001.
Each commodity is traded on average 2 to 3 times per year, and the average days in a trade are 98. The three Grand Cayman System Portfolios listed below have averaged from $17,000.00 per year to $44,000.00 depending on number of commodities traded over the past five years, using single contracts with an average net per trade (win/loss) between $1,263.00 and $1,952.00. (These figures valid as of the date of years shown on the summary and allow for $75 per trade per rollover (60 days).)
An important element to a system’s profitability is its ability to trade commodities from different complexes successfully. As a result, the Grand Cayman System Portfolio consists of a representative group of commodities from major complexes. The rationale behind this approach is that when one or more commodities are not showing profits, the positions from other complexes should more than make up for those losses, and given the consistent success of the Grand Cayman System Portfolio commodities, this approach has been more than successful.
Most commodity trading systems are optimized – and over-optimized – using historical data to obtain the best possible "hypothetical" performance results. The Grand Cayman System is not such a system.
The exact same entry and exit rules are used for all commodities in all complexes, and the simplicity of the system is such that over-optimization is, in fact, impossible.
The end result of this lack of optimization for the Grand Cayman System is that its real time performance is not only enhanced but also made much more reliable.
And, while the Grand Cayman System is applicable to all commodities, as with all system approaches, some commodities perform more profitably than others, hence our selection of commodities for the Grand Cayman System Portfolio.
